The Mountain Sage Medical Clinic and Pacific University are currently seeking applicants for a full-time Physician Assistant to practice clinically with Tom Fitzpatrick MD and serve as clinical faculty for Pacific University in Burns, Oregon. The role of the Mountain Sage Medical Clinical Co-faculty is to practice as a full-time physician assistant at Mountain Sage Medical, Hines-Burns VA Clinic, and Harney County Hospital and at four (4) off-site remote medical clinics as designated by collaborating physician, Tom Fitzpatrick MD.
As clinical faculty for Pacific University, the physician assistant will coordinate and supervise the clinical activities of the School of Physician Assistant Studies within Mountain Sage Medical, provide instruction in the didactic and clinical phases of the curriculum through distance delivery, and represent the School to the Harney county medical community.
The successful candidate will be a certified Physician Assistant with rural practice experience, a commitment to personalized patient care, excellent administrative and communication skills, computer literacy, a minimum of three years of clinical experience, a Master’s degree, and teaching experience preferred. This 12 month position reports to Tom Fitzpatrick MD and has a clinical faculty rank at Pacific University based on previous teaching experience. This position is partially funded by federal funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Burns, Oregon is located in the northwestern tip of the Great Basin in the largest county in Oregon. The beautiful Steens Mountains are 60 miles SE of Burns and are part of our rural outreach program. The Blue Mountains are immediately north of town, while the High Desert is East and West. Outdoor opportunities are abundant--fishing, hunting, hiking, cross country skiing, biking, horseback riding etc. The nearest world class downhill skiing is 2 hours away in Bend Oregon.
