What you’ll be doing:
• Aiding physicians with patient work-ups
• Conducting histories and physicals for critical care consults
• Interpreting hemodynamic and mechanical ventilation data
• Acting as a resource to the neurosurgeons and neurosurgical nurses
for critical care issues
• Daily rounds with attending intensivist
• Placing arterial and central venous catheters after appropriate certification
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Graduation from an accredited Physician’s Assistant program
• PA certification, DC license
• Minimum of 1 year critical care experience
• Knowledge of critical care hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical
ventilation/respiratory physiology
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients/families,
as well as staff and physicians
• Experience with arterial and central line placement and monitoring
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
