The schedule is primarily arranged using 12-hour overnight shifts. Responsibilities include taking histories, performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and x-rays, and treating common inpatient conditions. Additional roles may include performing admission evaluations and cross-coverage of patients admitted to the Medical Service.
