The department focuses on 3 main programs: Bioterrorism (smallpox), HIV/AIDS and ID Oncology. The PA will provide excellent patient care to healthy subjects in the Bioterrorism and HIV programs (80%) and will also spend 20% of their time in the ID Oncology clinic, working with acute care BMT and immunocompromised patients with systemic fungal infections. The ID dept is involved in groundbreaking research to find a cure for AIDS and to discover ways to prevent and deal with the threat of bioterrorism.
