Immediate opening in an innovative new Orthopaedic Walk-In Clinic in Winter Park, Florida (Orlando area).
This is a dream job, for the right person. The Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic has opened up this Orthopaedic
Convenient Care Center which employs three PA´s and are recruiting a fourth PA. The Jewett Clinic is nearly 70
years old and is very well established in Central Florida. This position requires at least three years of office-based
orthopaedic experience, and the ability to work independently.
The typical day would include the evaluation and treatment of a variety of orthopaedic conditions and injuries
including fractures, minor lacerations and soft tissue sprains and strains. Must be able to diagnose, perform
interventions as needed, and guide the patient through treatment over the course of several visits. There is excellent
onsite physician backup, and excellent support staff. Digital x-ray and MRI on site. The typical work week is
approximately forty hours a week with an afternoon off per week. There is potential for a four-day work week as
we expand our hours.
NO CALL and NO HOSPITAL DUTIES ! There is a bonus system in addition to a very competitive salary. We
offer a relocation allowance. The benefit package is quite comprehensive including a 401K package, profit sharing,

New graduates start at $35 per hour with many various shift differentials. New grads working 40 to 45 hours per

the hospital industry, working to implement Academy policies and positively shape the practice environment for
physician-PA teams and their patients.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Monitors standards and other policies of private health care accreditation organizations such as the Joint
Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), the National Committee for Quality Assurance
(NCQA), the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), the American Association for
Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), and
URAC. Ability to assess both professional and clinical implications is required.
B. Writes comments on proposed health care accrediting organization standards and policies that affect
physician-PA team practice. Ability to assess both professional and clinical implications is required.
C. Writes articles, Issue Briefs, Web documents, and other materials to inform the membership about activities of
private health care accrediting organizations that affect PA practice. Ability to address both professional and clinical
implications is required.
D. Develops resources to assist PAs with employment issues particular to institution-based practice.
E. Writes articles, Issue Briefs, Web documents, and other materials to inform employers and other institutional
decision makers about physician-PA team practice, with particular focus on accreditation and credentialing issues.
F. Cultivates a relationship with and attends meetings of organizations concerned with health care accreditation and
credentialing issues, such as JCAHO, NCQA, AAAHC, AAAASF, URAC, the National Association of Medical
Staff Services, and others, to monitor their activities and share information about the PA profession
H.G. Seeks opportunities for PAs to participate in health care accreditation organizations as representatives of the
AAPA and serves as the Academy representative, as needed.
H. Responds to inquiries on professional practice issues related to standards and policies of health care accrediting
organizations and health care institutions. Facilitates members in their efforts to improve the professional environment
in the institutional settings where they work.
I. Writes and updates AAPA publications and other resources related to PA practice and private health care
accreditation and credentialing issues.
J. Identifies areas in which the Academy may wish to develop policy on private health care accreditation and
credentialing issues.
K. Assists with analysis of government accreditation regulations in certain cases when they relate closely to private
accreditation standards, such as the Medicare Conditions of Participation for hospitals.
L. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Physician Assistant with 2 years of hospital experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle telephone and e-mail inquiries.
• Good organizational skills, professional demeanor, initiative, desire to help others.
• Working knowledge of MS Word helpful.
• Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.
Salary: The salary for this position is in the high $60,000s to $70,000
