The Emergency Department at Beth Israel Medical Center is seeking a Chief Physician Assistant to oversee 20+ PA’s. The Emergency Department, which sees over 115,000 patients a year, needs a dynamic leader to implement clinical and administrative policies; assist in day-to-day operations; and develop long-range plans for the Department. The Chief PA has 24-hour accountability for supervising the Emergency Department PA’s including hiring, orienting, training, evaluating, disciplining, ensuring proper credentials and scheduling. You will also direct, develop, and monitor areas of PA responsibility including direct patient care, PA student rotations, and the Follow-Up Quality Assurance Program.
Requirements for consideration include:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited PA Program; Master’s preferred
• 5+ years of clinical experience in busy hospital-based Emergency Department
• Current NYS Physician Assistant license
• Managerial skills to set and maintain a high level of clinical competency and performance standards for PA associates
• Professionalism, superior communication skills, sensitivity, fairness, exemplary patient-centered focus and superior work ethic
