Our Neurological Surgery Department has three opportunities for a PA or ARNP:

§ One position (new role) will see patients in two full day clinics at the Neurosurgery Clinic, see patients in the
hospital post-op, assist with developing the minimally invasive spine program, provide patient teaching, and maintain
a database for outcomes analysis. This mid-level provider acts as an independent and collaborative member of the
health care team and consults with other health care professionals as appropriate.

§ Two PAs or ARNPs (new roles) will see patients both in the inpatient and clinic settings. In the outpatient
component of the role, this provider will perform H & Ps, some procedures and manage patient follow-up care. In
the inpatient portion of the role, the provider will monitor and evaluate ongoing care in the inpatient setting, monitor
and evaluate patients for discharge and follow-up care, participate in discharge rounds to facilitate multi-disciplinary
plan of care, evaluate and define discharge regimen and complete discharge exams and discharge patients, and
dictate summaries and implement referrals if necessary.

Well-established Orthopaedic Group seeks to add a full-time Physician Assistant. The new PA will work one on
one with a Spine Fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon. The group already has several PA's and will train a
recent graduate or hire an experienced PA. The position is approximately equally split between the OR and the
clinic. Responsibilities include: first assist, pre and post H&P's, write scripts, coordinate with PT/OT, consultation,

Three new positions at Dana-Farber/Brigham & Women's Cancer Care in Boston, MA is opening an Intensive
Palliative Care Unit (IPCU) at the Brigham & Women's Hospital and will be able to offer PA's a direct care, medical
management role as a member of the interdisciplinary team, and opportunities to learn from leading Palliative
Medicine specialists. Training will include work with our existing PPC consult service as well as cross-training with
the hematologic oncology units. The Intensive Palliative Care Unit (IPCU) PhysicianAssistant (PA), is responsible
for assisting the inpatient Palliative Care Program attending physicians and fellows in the medical management and
palliative care of IPCU patients and in the palliative care consult service.

In addition, PAs will provide cross-coverage care for Hematologic Oncology/Hematopoietic Stem Cell
Transplantation (HO/HCST) patients and patients admitted for elective chemotherapy. The PA is expected to
develop basic knowledge of hematologic oncology and solid tumor oncology as disease processes and to develop
expertise in palliative care modalities, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic techniques and
communication skills for working with patients with cancer and their families.

The PA will also become familiar with general internal medicine and medical complications commonly seen in our
oncology patients with palliative care needs. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are
required. Knowledge of current literature and a commitment to continued learning are also required.

Qualifications: Graduate of AAPA/NCCPA accredited Physician Assistant Studies Program. Holds NCCPA
Board certification. Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Relocation is
